Summer Placements

Simpson & Marwick run a summer placement scheme for students in the third year of their law degree. We normally place a total of nine students over the summer, three per month through June, July and August.

You will be kept busy and interested. You will be placed within one team for the duration of the month. They will expect you to undertake research, shadow solicitors to court and prepare reports. All duties will give you experience of working within a legal firm and most of all a litigation firm.

The time you spend with us will help you and the firm make a decision on your suitability for a training contract. Up to three traineeships may be awarded on the basis of exit interviews following a successful placement. Those not awarded a training contract at this stage are encouraged to apply during the normal round in the Autumn and can usually expect to be given, at least, an interview.

The closing date for 2010 Summer Placements has now passed. If you have applied for a placement you will be contact by the end of April to advise if you have progressed to the interview stage.
