After an internship at the European Parliament in Luxembourg, Duncan then went on to complete his traineeship with Shepherd & Wedderburn in 2003.  After a brief period with Morton Fraser he made the move to Simpson & Marwick in 2004 to work for Dr Pamela Abernethy.

Duncan has significant experience in handling a high value caseload of personal injury and professional negligence actions in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court. He has represented medical professionals before the General Medical Council and has represented both doctors and dentists in clinical negligence and commercial court actions.

Duncan undertakes his own advocacy in the Sheriff Court and has appeared at Proofs, Fatal Accident Inquries, Appeals and Debates. He has been responsible for preparing seminars and mock trials to provide clients with a better understanding of the Court process.
